The celebration of the national date of India, 70th year of independence, was held on August 15th and was attended by Brazilian congressmen, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other departments of Brazilian Government, Ambassadors, other diplomats and friends of India.
The Ambassador of India welcomed the guests with a speech and mentioned the achievements of his country, India-Brazil relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries. The General Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Marcos Galvão, congratulated India for its 70th anniversary of independence, highlighting the ideals and values of Mahatma Gandhi and its relevance today. Also, he spoke with conviction about the positive trajectory of the strategic ties between the two nations.
The environs of the Embassy were illuminated with the colors of the Indian flag, marking the pride of such date.
